About the author...
Children’s picture book Author, Elaine Mills lives in regional Victoria with her husband, three girls and their fluff ball Groodle, Fergus (who you may see pop up in one of her books if you look closely).
Elaine began writing her first children’s book "My Daddy Works Away From Home" in 2019 to help her daughter to better understand why Daddy didn't come home after work at the end of each day like lots of other Daddy's do. With a beautiful rhyming story and relatable illustrations this book has been brought to life in such a way that it is like a warm hug for those children missing their parent/special adult who works away from home.
When Elaine isn’t wearing one of her many other hats as a nurse, paramedic, choreographer or fitness instructor she enjoys writing stories for children that provide a safe and warm space to explore heartfelt messages in a subtle and meaningful way as well as creating humorous tales which fuel excitement, imagination and wonder.
“Grandpa’s Glasses” has since been released in 2024 celebrating all types of glasses, creativity and innovative thinking. Keep an eye out for more publications coming soon!
